Deep cleansing facial in Málaga

A deep cleansing facial is a professional skin cleanse that clears away dead skin cells, excess oil and congestion in the pores using exfoliation, steam, gentle extractions and a finishing mask. At Narumi, in Málaga city centre, it is carried out by Marta Fernández, an advanced aesthetics specialist, after a look at your skin. It takes around an hour and, as maintenance, is usually repeated every 4–6 weeks.

What you can (and can't) expect

What it helps with

  • The look of congested pores and blackheads
  • Dull skin or uneven texture caused by a build-up of dead cells
  • A clean, fresh, more even-looking complexion
  • How well your skin takes to your at-home skincare

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't change your natural pore size: pores look cleaner and less noticeable
  • It doesn't soften pigmentation or wrinkles; other treatments are designed for that
  • It is no substitute for seeing a dermatologist about inflamed acne

Is it right for you?

Ideal for

  • Combination or oily skin with blackheads and shine
  • Dull skin that needs a ‘reset’ before an event or another treatment
  • Anyone who wants a monthly or seasonal maintenance routine
  • Anyone about to start a chemical peel, Dermapen or radiofrequency and wanting to prep the skin
  • Men with thicker skin or visible pores on the nose and chin

When we don't carry it out

  • Active inflamed acne with painful spots or cysts (see your dermatologist first)
  • Broken skin, an active cold sore or an infection in the area
  • Recent sunburn or very irritated skin
  • Flaring rosacea or marked thread veins (we adapt or skip extractions)
  • Oral retinoids or prescription treatments that thin the skin, unless your doctor says otherwise

If you're unsure about your own situation, check with your doctor first. We'll go through it with you at your initial consultation.

Your session, step by step

  1. Skin assessment and cleanse

We look at your skin type, sensitivity and the most congested areas, then remove make-up and surface grime.

  2. Exfoliation

A gentle exfoliation, or an ultrasonic spatula depending on your skin, lifts away dead cells and preps the pores.

  3. Steam and gentle extractions

Steam softens what is trapped in the pores, and Marta carefully extracts by hand only what comes out without forcing.

  4. Calm and rebalance

We apply a toner and a mask chosen for your skin: soothing, oil-balancing or hydrating.

  5. Moisturise and protect

We finish with moisturiser and sunscreen, and give you simple advice for the next few days.

Options

Ultrasonic peel

A quicker, gentler cleanse with an ultrasonic skin scrubber: vibration and water lift away dead cells and surface oil, with no steam and no manual extractions. A good option for fine or sensitive skin, as a top-up between full facials, or when you want fresh-looking skin without any redness. It is also the facial included in the Beauty Day ritual.

What a deep cleansing facial really does

Your skin renews itself, but not always at the pace you’d like. Oil, dead cells, pollution and make-up build up at the opening of the pores, forming blackheads (open comedones) and that rough texture that makes skin look dull. A professional facial won’t change your skin type; what it does is clear that build-up methodically so your skin works, and looks, better.

The difference from cleansing at home comes down to three things: exfoliation suited to your skin, steam to soften what’s trapped in the pores, and skilled manual extractions that empty the pore without damaging it. Squeezing in front of the mirror tends to leave marks; a professional extraction aims for exactly the opposite.

How we do it at Narumi

Every facial starts with a proper look at your skin. Oily skin with enlarged pores, dry skin with the odd blackhead and sensitive skin that flushes easily all need something different. Based on what she sees, Marta chooses the exfoliant, decides whether to use the ultrasonic spatula, how long to steam and which mask to finish with.

When it comes to extractions, the rule is simple: if it comes out with gentle pressure, it comes out. Anything that won’t budge is left for another session. It takes a little longer, but it protects your skin and avoids marks. The facial ends on a calm note, with a mask and a short massage, which is especially lovely in our treatment room with the Japanese mural.

Full facial or ultrasonic peel

If your skin is fine or reactive, or you just need a top-up, an ultrasonic peel may be all you need: it deep-cleans the surface with vibration and water, with no steam or extractions. A routine that works well for many people is to alternate the two: a deep cleansing facial every so often, with ultrasonic peels in between.

A good starting point for other treatments

Clean skin responds better to any other treatment. That’s why our facial packs always begin with a cleanse, followed by a chemical peel and then either Bellaction Duo facial or Dermapen. If you’re not sure where to start, a facial is the simplest way to see how your skin responds and plan your next step sensibly. Have a question first? After your session

Aftercare

  • Skip make-up for the rest of the day so your skin can breathe
  • Don't touch or squeeze the areas we've worked on
  • Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen, even if it's cloudy
  • Put off swimming pools, saunas and intense exercise for about 24 hours
  • Avoid scrubs and acids at home for two or three days

It's normal to notice

  • Slight redness on the nose and chin that fades within a few hours
  • The odd small mark where a very deep blackhead was
  • Occasionally, a spot or two over the following days while the skin rebalances

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get a deep cleansing facial in Málaga?

At Narumi Estética Avanzada & Bienestar, Calle Cristo de la Epidemia, 33 (29013 Málaga). We're a few minutes' walk from the historic centre, La Victoria and El Ejido, so you can easily walk over from most of the city centre. We work by appointment only: book on WhatsApp, by phone or through the form on our website.

How much does a facial cost at Narumi?

You'll find the prices for the deep cleansing facial and the ultrasonic peel in the price table on this page. If you'd like to go a step further, our facial packs combine the cleanse with a chemical peel and either Bellaction Duo facial or Dermapen, and work out better value than booking each session separately.

How often should I have a facial?

As a guide, every 4–6 weeks for combination or oily skin, and every two to three months for dry or normal skin. That gap lets your skin complete its natural renewal cycle. Having one more often won't leave your skin ‘cleaner’; it can irritate it. At your assessment we'll suggest a rhythm based on how your skin responds.

Does a deep cleansing facial hurt?

Most of the session is pleasant: cleansing, steam, a mask and a massage. Extractions can cause brief, mild discomfort, especially on the nose and chin. We never force pores that won't release; we'd rather repeat the cleanse in a few weeks than leave marks. If anything feels uncomfortable at any point, we stop and adjust.

What's the difference between a deep cleansing facial and an ultrasonic peel?

The deep cleansing facial includes steam and manual extraction of blackheads; it is more thorough and takes around an hour. The ultrasonic peel uses a vibrating spatula to lift dead cells and surface oil, without extractions. It is shorter and gentler, ideal for sensitive skin or as a top-up between full facials.

Will my face be red afterwards?

You may have some redness where we did extractions for a few hours, a little longer if your skin is fine. That's why we don't recommend booking it right before an important photo: two or three days before an event is ideal, so your skin looks its best on the day.

Can I have a facial if I have acne?

If you have the odd blackhead or spot, yes, and we adapt the products and extractions. If you have inflamed acne with painful spots, cysts or broken skin, please see your dermatologist first: at that stage we don't do extractions, because handling the skin could make it look worse.

Can I wear make-up after a facial?

Ideally not for the rest of the day. Your pores are freshly cleared and your skin a little sensitive, so make-up could clog them again or cause irritation. The next day you can go back to your usual routine, with a light base and always with sunscreen.

Do men have facials too?

Yes, and more and more of them. Men's skin tends to be thicker and oilier, with visible pores on the nose and chin, and it responds really well to a professional cleanse. We adapt extractions around the beard area and give you simple shaving tips for the following days.

What's included in the facial packs?

Pack 1 combines a deep cleansing facial, a chemical peel and Bellaction Duo facial; Pack 2 combines a deep cleansing facial, a chemical peel and Dermapen. Each works as a short plan: first we cleanse, then we resurface, and finally we work on firmness or texture. We'll help you choose the one that suits your skin.
