Pressotherapy in Málaga: lighter legs with sequential compression
Pressotherapy is a non-invasive beauty treatment in which boots or a suit fitted with air chambers inflate and deflate in sections, from the feet upwards. At Narumi, in Málaga city centre, Marta Fernández carries it out with a sequential compression unit. The aim is lighter-feeling legs and a draining effect. A session lasts about 30 minutes and is usually booked as a course of 5 to 10 sessions, once or twice a week.
- Duration
- About 30 minutes
- Sessions
- A course of 5 to 10 sessions, or one-off sessions
- How often
- 1–2 sessions a week during the course
- How it feels
- A snug pressure that rises and releases; most people find it pleasant
What you can (and can't) expect
What it helps with
- Tired, heavy legs at the end of the day
- A draining effect: legs that feel lighter and less puffy
- Rest and wellbeing after long hours on your feet or at a desk
- A complement to a body programme (wood therapy, Bellaction Duo)
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't help you lose weight or reduce fat on its own
- It doesn't treat lymphoedema, varicose veins or any circulatory condition: those are medical matters
- It won't make cellulite disappear; at most it improves its appearance alongside other habits
Is it right for you?
Ideal for
- People who spend long hours standing or sitting and end the day with heavy legs
- Anyone who notices more puffiness in summer, with the Málaga heat
- Anyone following a body programme who wants to add a draining effect

If you're unsure about your own situation, check with your doctor first. We'll go through it with you at your initial consultation.
Your session, step by step
-
Initial assessment
We ask about your health, any medication and how your legs feel. If there's any doubt about your veins or heart, we'll ask you to check with your GP first.
-
Fitting the boots
You lie back comfortably in the treatment room, in light clothing, and we fit the boots (or the suit, if we're also working on the abdomen) to your size.
-
Sequential compression
The unit inflates the chambers in sections, from the feet up to the thighs, then releases them. We set the intensity to whatever feels pleasant for you.
-
Finishing off
We remove the boots, you sit up slowly and we give you a few simple tips for the rest of the day.
Options
Cold wraps + pressotherapy
We combine cold wraps, soaked in a cooling solution, with your pressotherapy session. The cooling sensation adds to the sequential compression and the feeling of lightness is more pronounced. It's a firm favourite in the hot months and is available as a one-off session or a package of 10.
How pressotherapy works
Pressotherapy uses a pair of boots (or a suit that also covers the abdomen) divided into several air chambers. The sequential compression unit inflates them one after another, starting at the feet and working up towards the thighs, then empties them. That cycle of pressure and release repeats throughout the session.
What we’re aiming for is simple, and something you can judge for yourself: legs that feel lighter and less heavy, with a draining effect you’ll notice most at the end of the day. There’s no heat, no electrical current and nothing that goes through the skin. Just controlled pressure.
What makes the difference is the fine-tuning. We adjust the intensity and rhythm to your sensitivity and to how you feel on the day. Higher pressure isn’t better: if it’s uncomfortable, we turn it down.
When it makes sense, and when it doesn’t
Pressotherapy really comes into its own in a few specific situations:
- Jobs on your feet, or very sedentary ones. Shop staff, nurses, teachers, anyone who spends eight hours in front of a screen.
- The hot months. In Málaga, from June to September, that heavy-legged feeling is much worse. This is when the cold-wrap option makes the most sense.
- Body programmes. As a complement to wood therapy or Bellaction Duo body, because it adds the draining effect those treatments don’t set out to achieve on their own.
It’s just as important to be clear about what it doesn’t do. It won’t make you lose weight, it doesn’t burn fat and it doesn’t treat any medical condition. Lymphoedema, varicose veins and venous insufficiency are medical matters: if you have any of them, your doctor should decide what’s right for you.
Cold wraps and pressotherapy
This is our most popular combination in summer. The cold wraps bring an intense cooling sensation on top of the sequential compression. Many clients choose it before an event, after a long flight or during those August weeks when your legs just won’t cooperate. It has its own price and a package of 10 sessions.
How it fits into your week
A session takes about 30 minutes and leaves no trace: you walk out and carry on with your day. If you want a longer-lasting effect, plan a course of 5 to 10 sessions, once or twice a week, then book one-off sessions when you need them. Pressotherapy is also part of our Beauty Day and Piel de Seda rituals, if you’d rather give it as a gift, or treat yourself, as part of a fuller experience.

What our clients say
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get pressotherapy in Málaga?
At Narumi, Calle Cristo de la Epidemia 33, in Málaga city centre, a few minutes' walk from El Ejido, La Victoria and the historic centre. Sessions take place in a quiet treatment room with a sequential compression unit. Book by WhatsApp or phone on +34 611 500 328, or through the form on our website. Sessions are in Spanish, but message us on WhatsApp and we'll do our best to help.
How much does pressotherapy cost in Málaga?
You'll find up-to-date prices in the table on this page: single sessions, packages of 5 and 10 sessions, and cold wraps with pressotherapy, also available as a package. Packages work out better value if you want to do a course of sessions in a row, which is when you'll notice the effect most.
How many pressotherapy sessions will I need?
A single session already leaves your legs feeling lighter, but the effect is temporary. For something longer-lasting, the usual approach is a course of 5 to 10 sessions, once or twice a week, followed by occasional maintenance sessions whenever you feel you need them. We tailor it to your routine and your goal.
Does pressotherapy hurt?
It shouldn't. You feel a firm pressure rising from your feet and then releasing, rather like a hug that squeezes and lets go. We adjust the intensity to your comfort and turn it down if anything bothers you. Plenty of clients relax so much they nod off.
Does pressotherapy help you lose weight?
No. Pressotherapy doesn't burn fat or replace a balanced diet and exercise. What it offers is a draining effect and a feeling of lightness in the legs. That's why it works well as part of a body programme, not as a weight-loss treatment.
Is it the same as lymphatic drainage from a physiotherapist?
No. At Narumi, pressotherapy is a beauty treatment for wellbeing and a lighter feeling in the legs. Lymphoedema, swelling caused by illness or the after-effects of surgery need to be assessed and treated by a healthcare professional. If that applies to you, speak to your doctor before booking any session.
Who can't have pressotherapy?
We don't offer it if you have or have had thrombosis or phlebitis, heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, a pacemaker, cancer under treatment, infections or wounds on your legs, or during pregnancy. If you have any concerns about your veins or heart, see your doctor first; if they give you the all-clear, we'll take it from there.
What are cold wraps with pressotherapy?
It's a variation in which we combine wraps soaked in a cooling solution with sequential compression. The cooling sensation makes the lightness much more noticeable, especially in summer or after a run of very hot days. You can book it as a one-off session or as a package of 10.
How often can I have pressotherapy?
During a course, once or twice a week is typical. For maintenance, whenever your legs feel heavy, for example before summer or after a spell of long days on your feet. There's no need to leave recovery days in between, as there's no downtime.
Can I combine pressotherapy with other treatments?
Yes, it's one of the best add-ons. We often pair it with wood therapy or Bellaction Duo body as part of a body programme, and it's included in our Beauty Day and Piel de Seda rituals. We also offer eye-area pressotherapy as part of our eye contour treatment, which uses a different device.
What should I wear to my session?
Anything comfortable. For the boots you just need to take off your trousers; if we're also working on the abdomen, we'll give you everything you need to feel at ease. The boots are cleaned between clients and adjusted to your size.
